Photo Credit: Wakefield Beebe Memorial Library Pleasure Island was an amusement park in Wakefield Massachusetts that operated from 1959-1969. It was often known as the "Disneyland of the East" for being a fantasyland for all ages. Although it was only open for a short time, thousands passed through its gates to see the shows and ride the amusements. Boat rides were a fun attraction for many and including a pirate themed adventure for all ages.
